ROADSIDE bomb planted by suspected members of Boko Haram has blown off, killing three members of the vigilance group in Huyum village, in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State.
This was confirmed by a member of the vigilante group in the council, Mallam Inusa Dawa, adding that five other members of the group were wounded and currently receiving treatment at the General Hospital in Biu.
According to him, as of the time he left the village, corpses of the deceased still laid by the road side, adding, however, that the vigilante had vowed to fish out perpetrators.
Speaking further, he said the team arrested some members of the Boko Haram group last week and handed them over to security operatives, a development, he said, triggered the attack, using improvised explosive device (IED).
