He said he was deceived into believing that Buhari did not like the people of Niger Delta people, adding: “But sixty days after his assumption of office, he (Buhari) approved the implementation of the UNEP report. That singular action tells that the Ogonis stand to benefit more in Buhari’s administration than being in the opposition PDP.”
Over 700 members of the PDP from Rivers South-east Senatorial District, yesterday, defected to the APC.Senator Magnus Ngei Abe, the APC’s candidate for the Rivers South-east Senatorial District rerun election, who received the defectors, said more members of the opposition party will decamp before the election.
Abe, who spoke at a reception in honour of the defectors in Khana Local Government Area, said the Ogoni people have realised that the PDP had nothing to offer to them.
